Mira Mar Veterinary Hospital currently employs 5 veterinarians and 5 veterinary nursing assistants.

Dr David Warren - Dave is one of the proprieters of Mira Mar Veterinary Hospital.  He came to Albany from Perth with his partner and 2 young daughters to begin a new career as a mixed practice vet. Dave spent many years in the workforce prior to vet school, so brings with him many life skills.

Dr Jim Darmody-  is the other proprieter of Mira Mar Veterinary Hospital.  Jim is very experienced in all aspects of mixed veterinary practice having worked throughout Australia and the UK. His career commenced here in Albany in 1999, before he moved back with his family for the country lifestyle. Jim's wife Renae is also a vet, and they have 2 children. 

                        
Dr Kirsten Hunter- Kirsten came back to the practice after the birth of her third baby in 2006 and works part time. Kirsten has worked in Perth, England, Merredin and at Mt Barker. She is experienced with small and large animals, has moved back to Albany with her husband and 3 daughters  and enjoys working as a break from motherhood.  Kirsten will be leaving us in 2010 to commence a new life as a vet in Tom Price.

Dr Lesley Fantin - Lesley is the most recent addition to our veterinary team, and she comes to us with years of small animal vet experience in both Australia and her home country of Canada.  She is married to a local farmer, and is working part-time for us.  Lesley is also dedicated to improving her large animal skills.

Dr Renae Darmody - Renae started working here in 2009 part-time as a break from raising a young family.  She is an experienced small-animal clinician with some horse background.  She has also been put in charge of web-site management...

Sarah Tohl - Sarah joins us from Kojonup where she was a veterinary nurse. Sarah graduated from Certificate IV in veterinary nursing in 2008.  She runs our puppy classes and is a very enthusiastic and caring staff member. 

                                   

Emma Russell   joined us in September 2006. Emma is an Albany girl and was excited about coming home to join the Mira Mar team.  Emma completed her Veterinary Nurse qualification in mid-2009, and is very professional in her approach to work.

Jenny Smith - Jenny joined us in November 04 and comes with a wealth of life experiences. Married with 2 teenage daughters, Jen readily takes up the challenges vet nursing brings her way! Her hobbies include gardening, walking and all outdoor activities.

Pia Dykgraaf - Pia joined the team in 2009 and has quickly fitted in!  Initially our main administration assistant, Pia is also looking forward to commencing some veterinary nurse training in 2010.  Photo to come!

Amanda Poett - Amanda is a qualified veterinary nurse who has been working part-time with us over the past few years.  This allows the other nurses to take their annual leave, so she is a valuable member of staff! Amanda is the mother of three children, with baby Hayley arriving in Oct 09.
